Ministry: Russia raises wheat exports 22% to 27.7 mln tns by Jan 28
MOSCOW, Feb 3 (PRIME) -- Russia’s wheat exports increased by 22% to 27.7 million tonnes from the start of the current agricultural year on July 1, 2020 through January 28 compared with the same period of the 2019–2020 agricultural year, the Agriculture Ministry said on Wednesday.
Total grain exports amounted to 32.9 million tonnes in the period, up 21.1% on the year. Barley exports rose by 36.8% to 3.6 million tonnes, and corn exports fell by 19.6% to 1.3 million tonnes.
In the 2020–2021 agricultural year, Russia’s grain exports are projected at 45 million tonnes, including 35 million tonnes of wheat.
